Social media optimization

SMO
Social Media Optimization (SMO) or Social SEO is the methodization of social media activity with the intent of attracting unique visitors to website content. SMO is one of two online methods of website optimization; the other method is search engine optimization or SEO.
There are two categories of SMO/Social SEO methods: (a) Social media features added to the content itself, including: RSS feeds, social news and sharing buttons, user rating and polling tools, and incorporating third-party community functionalities like images and videos

Academic   Network   was   selected   to   develop   a       site   optimization   strategy   and   to   implement     a       social  media    outreach  and  blogging  campaign  for  a    major  food  industry  trade  association.

So, how do you fill the top of your funnel so it’s practically overflowing? Time and again, social media and SEO take the inbound marketing cake. But for marketers with limited time and money, SEO and social media often become competing priorities. I mean, it’s not like you necessarily have all the resources in the world to throw your full weight behind SEO and social media. And the thing is, it’s usually better to do one thing well than two things, well, not well.
